8th September 2013 SCAS Inter Counties Tournament

Adam got his second call-up for county to be part of the Hertfordshire Junior Team in the annual inter-counties match. This was held at the Kingston University Sports ground. The Juniors shot Bristols on a day which included glorious sunshine, cool breezes, and a couple of bouts of heavy rain for good measure. Adam shot alongside some of the county’s finest Archers – including England and GB squad members – a great experience.

Aim4Sport Portsmouth – 20th Oct 2013

The Aim4Sport Archery Club has added a new tournament to the Autumn season. This was held a new venue – Princess Helena College near Hitchin. It was a great venue and good shoot. Jacky gave her new longbow its first tournament outing – winning the gold medal – but then she was the only lady longbow shooting.

Josh came second in the Under 14s and Adam third in the Under 18s. The Elswood Recurve Team – Dave, Adam, Luke and Josh won bronze medals.

3rd Nov 2013  Abbey & Edge Grove Junior Tournament

Held in St Albans this Portsmouth tournament is for Juniors only. The Elswood team of Adam, Luke, Jimmy & Joshua put in a great performance.

10th November 2013 Green Dragon 500

The Odyssey Sports Centre in Stevenage was a lot warmer than last year making for a much more pleasant Shoot. In this Portsmouth tournament the Juniors did very well again, Joshua winning the U 14 gents and Luke winning the U18 gents with Adam in Second.  Jacky & Dave managed silver for the married couples and the Elswood team came 5th overall.

17th November 2013 HAA Indoor Team Championships

Back in the Odyssey Sports centre for the last time before it gets demolished. This shoot was a Fita25, just little further than a Portsmouth, with extra whistles and marking of every arrow hole. Joshua yet again had to cope with 100s archers watching, this time he and the judge inspected his boss for the unmarked arrow hole after he got a bouncer. Worth it for the 2 extra points though.

Elswood did well with Jacky winning the ladies Longbow - this time with other archers to compete against!

Luke came 2nd and Adam 3rd in the U18 Gents, and the Elswood Junior Team came second, up one place from last year’s third – Well done all!

Darts shoot - Friday 3rd January 2014

After some close fought tussles the recurve trophy went to Dave Toon; who won 2 games to 1         against Richard Philpott.

The Compound went to Eddie Ozaki-Owen;  2 to 1 against Adam Zacks

The Juniors was won by Luke Dyer who won 2 games.

The Visitors was won by Nick Hare in a close fought battle with Christine.
